The new Helix album is tentatively titled "It's Rock Science, NOT Rocket Science!". I have no idea when it will be out, but I am sure they will play a couple of tracks when I see them in August at Rock Gone Wild.

I JUST got an email from Simple Minds about their new album!
"Hot on the heels of their 30th Anniversary Celebration Tour that saw
them playing to over a quarter of a million people during their sold
out 2008 European/UK arena tour, and their performance at Nelson
Mandela's 90th Birthday concert in London's Hyde Park, Simple Minds are
about to enter the most prolific period within their extensive career
with the highly anticipated brand new album 'Graffiti Soul' due for
international release on May 25th by Universal Music Records label."
If you are worth your salt, you will recall that Simple Minds gave us such great hits as "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and "Alive and Kicking". 'Graffiti Soul' will be their 15th album.
Now, if they would just get their asses over to the US for some live dates ...

Motorhead's 24th album, "Motorizer" will be out August 26th. I had the opportunity to see Motorhead on the Metal Masters tour with Judas Priest and Heaven and Hell (and some other band that sounded like they were slaughtering animals and throwing up blood). They played "Heroes" from the new disc, and if the rest of the album is that good; I will be buying it!

"Who are The Rods?", you may be asking? Well, let me tell you! The Rods are a rock band that were only around from 1981-1986. They are made up of David "Rock" Feinstein (guitar and vocals), Garry Bordonaro (bass and vocals), and Carl Canedy (drums and vocals). David Feinstein is the cousin of Ronnie James Dio and used to play in his band, Elf. If you don't remember the group, you should remember the album, "Wild Dogs". The new album features 2 tracks featuring Dio, and should be out by the end of the year. If they still rock as much as they did 'back in the day', this album will be a must buy!

The wait is just about over! My favorite band, AC/DC is about to release their 15th studio album, "Black Ice". The new disc will be released on October 27th and available exclusively from Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. The first single, "Runaway Train", will hit the radio waves in late August and the acompanying world tour will begin in October.
It has been 8 years since the release of their last effort, "Stiff Upper Lip". As with the release of every album since "Ballbreaker" in 1995, "Black Ice" is rumored to be their last. Just in case, I will be seeing them a couple of times on the forthcoming tour. Looks like this years birthday will be awesome!

AC/DC's next studio album will be
sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in the U.S., according to a
report in the Wall Street Journal.
The as-yet-untitled Columbia album is expected in the fall.
AC/DC becomes the latest veteran music act to pact
exclusively with the retail giant, following Garth Brooks, the
Eagles and Journey. The Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden,"
released in summer 2007, has been an enormous success, having
sold more than 2.98 million copies in the U.S., according to
Nielsen SoundScan.

The Cult is currently recording their first album in six years in London with Killing Joke member and producer, Youth.
The album will be called "Born Into This", will be the band's first for Roadrunner Records, and will be released in September.
The group just completed a European tour in support of The Who.
The current lineup includes two original members, vocalist Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy. They are joined by John Tempesta (Testament, White Zombie) on drums, Mike Dimkitch on rhythm guitar and Chris Wyse on bass.
Although the band formed in 1981, no one line up has been together for more than two years.

The new Scorpions album is almost done! The group had this to say on their website: "We enjoyed a fantastic four month in Los Angeles, california, recording the songs for our new album HUMANITY -HOUR 1. The mixing is making great progress as we speak. Very soon, the new album will be completely mixed and mastered and ready to be shipped across the world. After spending quite some time in the studio, we are definetely ready to go out on the road again."

The family of Brad Delp, the late lead singer of Boston, has revealed his death was a suicide.
"He was a man who gave all he had to give to everyone around him, whether family, friends, fans or strangers," the family said in a statement relayed by police Wednesday. "He gave as long as he could, as best he could, and he was very tired. We take comfort in knowing that he is now, at last, at peace."
Delp, 55, died Friday at his Atkinson home. Fiancee Pamela Sullivan found him.
Toxicology tests showed that Delp committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Delp also left two notes taped to a door and letters to his family and Sullivan.
The family said last week it planned a private funeral followed by a public memorial to be scheduled later.
